Ovarian Cancer Relief Foundation

The Ovarian Cancer Relief Foundation is a public foundation located in Ontario, Canada. Founded in 2021 by Fiona Brown, Denise Charlebois, Jean Copas, Dr. Marcie Lorenzen, and Bonnie St. Julien, the Foundation is dedicated to saving women’s lives by accelerating ovarian cancer research.

What we do

We fund ovarian cancer research in Canada using proceeds from The Dawn Ride. The Dawn Ride (www.dawnride.org) is the Foundation’s peer-2-peer fundraising event which is supported by motorcyclists across Canada, their families and friends.

Our overarching goal

To protect future generations by dramatically increasing women’s odds of detecting ovarian cancer early and surviving the disease – with an enjoyable quality of life – far beyond 5-years. Current odds of 5-year survival are barely 50/50. By using our power for good, we aim to make ovarian cancer history.

Past grants

In 2021, our founding year, the Foundation’s Dawn Ride generated over $60,000 for ovarian cancer research. These funds were donated to Ovarian Cancer Canada’s OvCan research initiative.
